A rf coaxial test probe is a spring contact probe designed with a coaxial structure matching the given impedance (such as 50Ohm, 75Ohm), is a soft connection to the test point or connector, carrying a signal from the connector to the network analyzer, then checking the performance of the product.
The RF coaxial test probe is composed of many parts, and makes one side input structure with a ground shield and an inner probe pin, the ground shield is made of metal with gold plating to touch on the connector ground or PCB ground pad, and the inner probe pin is just like a normal spring contact probe to mate the signal pin or tin solder on PCB board. Both generate a coaxial structure to get the signal passing over the probe and flowing through the whole probe to the opposite side, that is connector side which is usually designed into SMA or SMP (the required connector types.). It makes the automated test possible by mounting on a fixture driven by pneumatic controlling.
